Darrell Murphy

Coach Darrell Murphy Jr was born in Seattle ,Wa
But spent the majority of his childhood in Long Beach  .
In 2003 he relocated back to Washington  to live with His grandmother Sharon .

Coach Darrell played his first 3 years of high school basketball at Tyee where he lettered in Football and basketball!  Also playing Varsity Football and Basketball at Mount Rainier HS .

Coach Darrell Started his Coaching career really early Age of 19  taking the passion that he had played with on the court and transferring into developing youth over the Past 13 years for ECBA.  Coach Darrell decided to start coaching because he felt like he could give todays youth the kind of coaches he needed when he was young . Constructive And caring while building relationships with players and maintaining a progressive mindset. “Progression is key”

My coaching philosophy is Simple . Be disciplined, execute our X’s and O’s . Lastly having fun while handling business ..

Offensive: Good ball movement, proper spacing , learning how to run and fill lanes in transition.. last be not least practicing TEAM BALL..
Defense : teaching how to guard man to man , teaching help side principles , teaching  to rotate ..(on the pass not the catch )
practice  PERFECTION so that we are allowed to fall a little short in games and still be successful..
